Directions to Electrical and Computer Engineering
By Plane:
-
Bangor International Airport,
12 miles from the
University of Maine, is serviced by several major airlines.
Major car rental agencies
are represented at the airport.
Taxi service is also available. From the airport, take
I-95 north.
By Car:
- On I-95 take Exit 193 (Stillwater Ave/Old Town).
Turn toward Burger King and the shopping center.
Follow Stillwater Ave until it crosses the
Stillwater River (1/2 mile?). After crossing the river,
turn right onto College Ave. (US Rt 2A) at the first stop-light.
College Ave. will lead you to the campus.
Take the first entrance to campus (Long Rd, near Alfond Arena) to
get to Barrows Hall.
Use the campus map to
locate Barrows Hall. (UMaine also provides an
interactive html map.)
Finding a parking space may be difficult after 8:00 AM.
You'll need a parking permit when you arrive.
They are available for official visitors in the ECE office (Room 101).
Hotel and Motel Reservations
I usually recommend the
Best Western Black Bear Inn
(located in Orono, off exit 51) for campus visits: 207/866-7120.
It's close to campus, relatively new, and avoids the noise at the
airport.
Other accommodations are available in the Bangor area.
