Multiply Instructions
x86 processors have a counter than measures multiply instructions
(usually both FP and INT).
x86 and x86_64
- Pentium Pro, II, III
- MUL - Counter 1 only
This counter is speculative.
- Core2
- MUL -- r510012:u -- IA32_PMC1 only
Multiplies executed, so speculative.
On Core2 this seems to count "divq" (64-bit divides) as a multiply,
as well as countnig "mulq" (64-bit multiplies) twice.
- Nehalem
- Atom
- AMD
- DISPATCHED_FPU:OPS_MULTIPLY -- r500200:u
